Aconex, will provide its Web-based information management service to support Consolidated Construction Consortium’s (CCCL) construction of a factory in Chennai, India, for Taiwanese electronics good manufacturer, Foxconn.

Aconex will help streamline collaboration between organisations by controlling the large volume of data generated on the project.

According to CCCL, as a step in modernising its document controls, the company approached Aconex. By using the Web-based information management service, CCCL wants to maintain a proper record of documentations, which will avoid errors caused by using old drawings. The Web-based information management service will also help CCCL to deal with the various parties involved with the project.

Over the ten-month project lifecycle, teams working on the factory construction are expected to create and distribute thousands of documents and correspondence such as drawings, contracts, approvals, variations and requests for information.

Aconex will enable teams to store and manage all their information online in a secure central site. This will allow people to view, mark up, distribute and track their files electronically, at any time and from any location.

According to Aconex, effectively managing project data is crucial to completing a project on time and within budget. Through using Aconex, CCCL and its project partners will experience reduced administrative costs such as printing and couriers, increased productivity by being able to access and distribute information electronically and reduced risks such as information loss and disputes over documentation.
