Rhinocast ductile iron access covers from ACO Polycrete  were specified for the Ipswich Motorway, which links Ipswich to Brisbane.

Recently upgraded by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, the project also included the in-filling of abandoned coal mines in the areas of Redbank Plains and Goodna under which the new motorway and structures were built.

Designers were faced with the challenge of maintaining access to existing public infrastructure. Origin Alliance specified ACO’s Rhinocast ductile iron access covers in various sizes to meet the project’s requirements.

ACO products specified for the project included Rhinocast 4-part multipart access covers, and ACO Cablemate TMR certified plastic pit enclosures.
