A drain system with anti-slip grates from ACO Polycrete was installed at the Melbourne Park Tennis Centre (Rod Laver Arena).
Home of the Australian Open and many other events ranging from motorbike super-crosses to rock concerts and ballets, the Melbourne Park Tennis Centre had a 4.5 mega litre stormwater retention tank installed and integrated with the extensive landscaping along the western concourse across to Batman Avenue, as part of a recent works program.
Designers selected ACO Drain with stainless Heelsafe anti-slip grates to remove the surface water from the new hardstand areas while ensuring safe passage of pedestrians. The same grate was then specified as custom tree grate surrounds to ensure visual continuity across the new hardstand pavements.
Products specified by Cox Architecture for the project included custom made stainless Heelsafe anti-slip tree grates, ACO Drain systems with stainless Heelsafe antislip grates, and ACO Access ductile iron access covers.
