Healthcare environments are subjected to a lot of stress every day, requiring practical, hardwearing and robust interiors that can withstand the rigours. However, it’s also important that this durability comes with aesthetic appeal; many new healthcare developments are now choosing to incorporate products that combine function with elegance in their interiors.

Here are three unique healthcare projects that make the most of their interiors, with various products from Acculine Architectural Systems also specified for the facilities.

Bega Hospital (2016)

Located within lush green farmland with views of the Bega River through the large windows, the new Bega Hospital had a stunning setting and the architects needed the interiors to match the vista. Acculine installed corner guards, handrails, wall guards, aluminium wall sheet, rigid vinyl wall sheet, door panels and door frame protectors. This ‘whole project solution’ reflected the beauty and tranquillity of the hospital surrounds, and helped deliver a state-of-the-art facility offering ease of access and navigation to staff, patients and visitors.

Epworth Waurn Ponds (2015)

Epworth Waurn Ponds, Geelong’s new 277-million-dollar hospital is an upmarket healthcare facility offering VIP rooms, mood lighting, marble nurse’s stations and luxury finishes in wallpaper, carpet and fabric. Acculine installed a range of products to match the luxurious settings of the prestigious project, including premium quality wall and corner protection products, bed bumpers and corner guards.

Anglican Care (2015)

Anglican Care, an aged care centre in Toronto, NSW featured a handpicked selection of door protection, door frame protection, corner guards and HR9 timber handrails in an array of eight complementary colours. Acculine provided a complete turnkey package to meet the client’s requirements for a harmonious colour palette and seamless finish within the interior. Custom-made door frame protectors, rigid vinyl rebated door panels, Victorian Ash handrails and polycarbonate corner guards were installed at the aged care facility, creating a restful, safe and welcoming space for residents and staff.

Conclusion

With the growing awareness of the impact of healthcare environments on the wellbeing of patients and clients, drab clinical interiors have given way to pleasing and harmonious design. These three projects have embraced this new approach, showcasing some seriously impressive interiors.
