Australian Aluminium Finishing , in combination with the Henkel organisation has secured an exclusive pre-treatment system that ensures the powder coating of Aluminium products is traceable for the life of the work.

With so much aluminium being sourced from different plants in Asia, the application and durability of Aluminium powder coating is a major issue for Australian customers. If coating defects appear in the warranty period, complex and costly rectification issues with an offshore aluminium supplier or even a local supplier can consume a lot of resources.

Poor records plague the aluminium industry and many projects are clouded by many coaters doing the work. Who applied the powder on a certain section is important information in the unfortunate event of a structural failure.

To guarantee the correct pre-treatment procedures (priming) have been followed for the powder application process, the "DNA" trace elements - which are exclusive to AAF / Henkel, are embedded during AAF's powder coating processes. These trace elements are included in conversion coating during pre-treatment of the metal, prior to powder coating.

AAF offers the ongoing reliability of a "DNA Fingerprint" for all EverCoat powder coatings. EverCoat is licensed to the international Qualicoat compliance system with up to 35 years warranty.

"DNA" traceability does not apply to anodising.
