3M Touch Systems has launched design enhancements to its MicroTouch M150 LCD touch screen monitor.

Offering a broader feature set and increased market adaptability, the M150 monitor can cost-effectively adapt to the unique needs of touch monitor users across many application segments.

Since its introduction, the M150 has generated a strong following in the point-of-sale, retail, and hospitality segments, in part because of its unique feature set.

In addition to a locking angle adjustment mechanism, full multimedia capability and simple-to-use cable management system, the M150 monitor now offers several key, new features that boost the product's overall adaptability in a variety of applications.

A new peripheral attachment system enables near-seamless attachment of a variety of market-specific peripherals, including magnetic stripe card and fingerprint readers.

The system allows peripheral devices to be mounted not only on the right or left side of the monitor, but simultaneously on both sides if necessary.

Integral cable guides in the monitor case inconspicuously route peripheral cabling along the M150 Monitor and into the cable management area.

The system also allows bundling of peripherals based on brand preference and market requirements. This offers value added resellers (VARs) and end users maximum configuration flexibility when developing market or site specific solutions, while capitalising on peripheral-specific brand value and feature sets.

The system allows for quick, on-site replacement of non-functional peripherals, minimising down time and spare inventory requirements by allowing easy replacement of faulty components. The system also allows for easy upgrade of peripheral technology as it evolves.

In addition to the new peripheral system, the product now boasts an IPX-1 rating. To further extend the enhanced market adaptability, stereo speakers have been relocated to the display head allowing for full multimedia capability in ergonomic arm or wall-mounted installations.
