3M has added a new welders range to their fall protection equipment portfolio.

The new Pro Welders Range from Capital Safety’s Protecta brand features a Kevlar construction to provide heat, flame and cut resistance while working in high heat environments. The Pro range consists of a harness and six shock absorbing lanyard models designed to cover the majority of applications encountered in high temperature work environments.

Recommended for use in ‘Hot Work’ applications such as welding, flame cutting and grinding, where sparks and slag can easily compromise standard polyester webbing harnesses and lanyards, the Pro Welders Range of fall protection equipment is tough and durable, resistant to extreme heat, cuts and abrasions, and caters for workers who weigh between 50kg and 160kg with tools and equipment.

Rick Millar, Technical Manager for Capital Safety, Australia and New Zealand explains that the Pro range utilises Kevlar thread in its harness and lanyard stitching, and a removable Kevlar cover that protects the lanyards’ shock pack casing. The range incorporates all the critical components required to enhance resistance to heat, cuts and abrasions.

Designed to simplify inspection, the Pro Welders range provides compliant fall protection safety harnesses and lanyards for use in hot work environments.
