Global fall protection specialist 3M has released a new rope grab product designed to act as a secondary backup device for fall arrest systems.

3M’s new DBI-SALA Rope-Safe rope grab is part of the Rollgliss Technical Rescue range and is certified to meet an array of international standards for use as a secondary backup device for fall arrest on kernmantle rope.

Delivering advanced fall protection for workers at height, the Rope-Safe design takes rope grabs to the next level, providing the versatility of an automatic rope grab that is easily switchable to a towable manual grab. Designed to meet the toughest of conditions and the demands of global markets, the Rope-Safe rope grab is rated as a fall arrester for a single user or for a two-person rescue effort up to 200kg.

Supplied as a complete unit for use as a secondary backup device for fall arrest, Rope-Safe rope grab is available in three shock absorbing kernmantle rope lanyard connection configurations of 300mm, 600mm or 900mm models. Providing a system designed and tested for maximum convenience and safety of the worker, Rope-Safe incorporates DBI-SALA’s i-Safe intelligent safety system utilising RFID technology to track inspections, control inventory and manage information.
