Fall protection equipment specialist 3M has introduced a new range of rope pole straps suitable for work positioning, restraint and assisted climbing.

The new DBI-SALA rope pole straps complement the brand’s current range of pole straps available in webbing or wire core.

Featuring an easy-to-use lightweight yet durable design, the kernmantle rope pole strap range has been engineered to meet the demands of linesmen for work positioning, restraint and assisted climbing when the use of a rope pole strap is preferred.

Rick Millar, Technical Manager with 3M Australia & New Zealand explains pole straps are extensively used within the utilities industries for climbing electricity and telecommunications poles under restraint. The new lightweight adjuster on these rope pole straps provides an easy and efficient lightweight adjustment system that can be used even while working.

Constructed from hi-vis yellow kernmantle rope for easy identification and added visual safety, the new rope pole straps are available in various lengths with a variety of connector configurations including double or triple action for easy connection to the user’s harness, and come with a heavy duty integral woven polyester wear sleeve that provides abrasion resistance and extends product life.

Fully compatible hardware with 16kN gate strength is provided on all hooks to remove the risk of accidental disengagement from excessive gate loadings and forced roll-out.

DBI-SALA’s i-Safe intelligent safety system utilising RFID technology is built into each pole strap to track inspections, control inventory and manage information.

Home of the DBI-SALA and PROTECTA brands, 3M is a world-leading designer and manufacturer of height safety, confined space and industrial rescue equipment with 20 operating sites worldwide.
