Australian manufacturer AIR-CELL Insulation has launched Permishield®, a revolutionary product that “breathes” while delivering high thermal performance as well as the thermal break required under the BCA for steel framed constructions. Permishield® is ideal for insulation behind lightweight wall cladding materials that require vapour permeance, and is Australia’s first “breathable” thermo-reflective insulation and thermal break product wrapped up in one application. Permishield® allows building professionals to do away with the traditional sarking-plus-batts combination in order to achieve thermal compliance as well as satisfy vapour permeance. As with all of AIR-CELL’s products, Permishield® is fibre-free, non-allergenic, environmentally friendly and fast and easy to install. Permishield® has been stringently fire tested and complies with Australian Standards and BCA regulations.
