MARKILUX, the German awning manufacturer has launched two new fire retardant fabrics into the Australian market.

Swela Transilk FR and Swela Perla FR were recently tested for compliancy to AS 1530.2 and AS 1530.3. Achieving a Flammability index of 2 and 3 respectively, they exceed compliancy for awning materials for commercial use.

Designed with innovative features including nano self-cleaning, all weather and fire-retardant properties, the new fabrics give the ultimate in performance for every commercial application.

With up to 99.5% UV protection, an SPF 50+, the new collections are ideal for creating all-weather protective areas for child-care centres, schools and servicing the safety and comfort needs of customers in clubs and outdoor restaurants.

Available in a diverse palette of colours, Swela Transilk with its semi-transparency, and Swela Perla being 100% waterproof, they are high in style, making the perfect complement to the premium range of Markilux folding-arm, conservatory and window awnings.
