The Association of Consulting Architects Australia (ACA) recently notified us of updated Federal Industrial Awards pay rates relevant to employees working in architectural practices.

The new award rates incorporate the minimum wage decision made by the Fair Work Commission in June 2014, which sees an increase of three per cent to all award wages applicable from the first full pay period from 1 July 2014.

Award pay rates valid from 1 July 2014 can be downloaded from the ACA here.

For the National Architects Award, all full time level 1 graduates of architecture must be paid an annual rate of at least $45, 465 at an entry-level. Level 2(a) experienced graduates of architecture should receive a minimum annual wage of $52, 563. Level 2(b) registered architects at entry level should also receive $52, 563.

The national minimum wage increase is relevant to all employees who are covered by Modern Awards, including the Architects Award, which covers all architectural practices.
