A grand slatted staircase, inspired by granite stone formations, has become a feature of Norwegian finance company Arwright’s new office space.

Designed by London studio Haptic, the stained black timber staircase descends from the office reception into a lounge area, incorporating widened treads that offer spaces for casual seating.

The aesthetic continues behind the monolithic reception desk, with the wooden strips creating curved walls to hide a back office space.

Haptic’s design references "svabergs" - large granite stone formations typical to the Norwegian coastline, which were rounded and polished by icebergs thousands of years ago.

Also included in the new office is a James Bond-themed executive lounge featuring wood-panelled walls, sophisticated leather furniture and a secret bookcase door that pivots to connect the room with the corridor outside.
