With less than two weeks until the 2015 Sustainability Awards winners are announced we thought we’d rekindle our reader’s interstate rivalry in the best way we know how—a state by state breakdown of all the shortlisted projects and categories for the 2015 awards program.

If you haven’t purchased your tickets to the 2015 Sustainability Awards to be held 8 October at Doltone House in Sydney and would like to come along, please click here.

Admittedly, the Sustainability Awards are not comprehensive enough to be a statistical representation of the green buildings in each state. However, they do present an excellent sample of the top tier of work in this sector across the country.

And if we take this year’s shortlist as anything to go by, Victoria is definitely leading the fray.

Victoria has a staggering 26 projects shortlisted from a total of 52 in the 2015 program, ahead of Queensland who has the next highest representation with 17 shortlisted projects. If it was a draw of the hat game, then Victorians would expect to take home the Public Building, Residential Single (Alterations & Additions), Residential Single (New) and Small Commercial category awards easily.

They would also have an equal chance of winning the Landscape, Large Commercial and Office Fitout categories, leaving only the Multi-Density Residential category prize up for grabs, which theoretically would be taken out by Western Australia who has a total of three projects out of the pool of five.

Here’s a quick state by state breakdown of the 2015 Sustainability Awards finalists. Click on the links for more detail on each of the projects in their respective categories.
