Architect, design teacher and researcher Dr Peter Raisbeck calls upon architectural practices to focus on design knowledge ecosystems to sustain themselves in the future. The first ACA Insight national webinar for 2017 will be held on Wednesday 22 March and will feature Dr Raisbeck who also argues that going forward, successful architectural firms will require radical new models of leadership.

Raisbeck will outline the key elements needed by architects to manage their firms as design knowledge ecosystems encompassing management of research, design portfolios, design processes, and knowledge across boundaries. He will also explore how the successful future of the architectural firm is contingent on a practice focussed towards knowledge production.

Currently an academic at the MSD at the University of Melbourne, where he teaches architectural practice and design, Raisbeck broadly explores architecture, urban design, technology and architectural history through his research and writing. Raisbeck is pursuing research in the areas of workplace design, digital practice in architect’s offices, design and construction robotics, and the changing nature of the architectural profession.

The national webinar will be held on Wednesday, 22 March, 2017.
