TDA Interiors has recently commenced work on the refurbishment of The American Club at 131 Macquarie Street, Sydney.

The American Club is situated on the 13th floor and comprises 800 sqm of floor space. The refurbishment will comprise fitouts of function rooms, bars, kitchen, bathrooms and lounge areas with high-end finishes and attention to fine details.

"With the economy returning to better times we are seeing a resurgence in more extravagant fit outs. Designers are employing greater creativity with fit outs," says Andrew Holder, managing director of TDA Interiors.

TDA Interiors will create a full catering kitchen with stainless steel Goldstein appliances including a Radiant Char Broiler, Heavyweight 800 series Plus oven and Pass-Through Dishwashers.

The Club will also feature a set ceiling of metal tiles, while the foyer will feature slate floors. CBUS automatic lighting will be used throughout enabling connections to audio equipment and other electronic devices, creating an integrated approach to all systems.

TDA will create a flexible space using operable walls throughout the entire venue. Operable walls create a fully functional space with the ability to quickly change the rooms from segregated offices to an open plan set up.

A complete strip-out is required for the project, including removing the 40-year old plumbing and wiring. TDA also faces challenges with the building situated in between residential buildings, forcing them to abide by residential work hours.

The fitout is worth a total of $1.6 million. The project is scheduled for completion in late July.
