Invisible House by Peter Stutchbury Architecture is among 30 projects in the running to win the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) first global architecture award, The RIBA International Prize.

From hundreds of entries, RIBA has announced a selection of 30 buildings based in 20 countries to be visited this summer in contention for the award.

Among the list is the Jockey Club Innovation Tower by Zaha Hadid Architects in Hong Kong, Parkroyal on Pickering by WOHA Architects in Singapore and Invisible House in NSW’s Blue Mountains by Peter Stutchbury Architecture, which is the only Australian project in contention.

Each of the 30 buildings will be visited this summer by the RIBA Awards committee. This number will be whittled down to 20, after which six finalists will be chosen and visited by the Grand Jury this autumn. The winner of the first RIBA International Prize will be announced in December 2016.

The RIBA international Prize will be judged by a Grand Jury, chaired by Richard Rogers and will include Billie Tsien, founding partner of Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects | Partners based in New York City, Kunlé Adeyemi, founder and principal of NLÉ, Marilyn Jordan Taylor FAIA, the dean of architecture at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Fine Arts and Philip Gumuchdjian, founder of Gumuchdjian Architects and Chair of RIBA Awards.
