Architects, building designers and sustainability experts will gather in Melbourne over the coming weeks for another installment of the Speed Date a Sustainability Expert initiative.

Featuring experts on energy efficiency, solar power, lighting, sustainable gardens and renovations, Speed Date a Sustainability Expert will be held at the Melbourne's Footscray Town Hall on Saturday 25 July and Altona Meadows Library on 4 August . Leading green home architects, designers and sustainability experts will provide free advice to the public during 20-minute ‘dates’.

Speed Date a Sustainability Expert is part of the Lighting the West project, which will see thousands of residential streetlights upgraded to more energy-efficient technology. This project has received Australian Government funding.

ATA chief executive Donna Luckman said Speed Date a Sustainability Expert would be an informative and fun event for participants, who are also encouraged to bring plans on their laptop, tablet or in hard copy.

Small Spaces, led by Kathy Smalley has been designing gardens since 1997. Kathy studied horticulture at both NMIT and Burnley College and teaches designing gardens for small spaces at CAE in Melbourne.
