Nominations for the 2014 BPN Sustainability Awards are coming to a close, with all entries to be submitted by Friday, 4 July 2014.

Founded by Building Products News (BPN) Magazine, a respected industry journal that was established in 1967, the program is now in its eighth year but continues to recognise the work of those at the forefront of ecologically sustainable building and design in Australia.

It remains the industry’s strongest independent program, and there are no costs to enter.

Shortlisted projects, which will be revealed after the nomination deadline, will be featured in the September/October issue of BPN Magazine,, as well as Architecture & Design.

These projects will also be pushed out via the group’s social media outlets, including FacebookTwitter, and in the Architecture & Design daily newsletter.

Winners will again be featured in the November/December issue.

The categories for 2014 include:

  • Innovation of the year
  • Large Commercial
  • Small Commercial
  • Office Fitout
  • Multi-density Residential
  • Public Building & Urban Design
  • Landscape Design
  • Single Dwelling (Alterations & Additions)
  • Single Dwelling (New)

Winners of each category will be in the running for the Best of the Best Award, to be presented at the awards ceremony on 23 October 2014. Last year, this honour went to the application of the suspended geopolymer concrete floor panels by Bligh Tanner, Wagners and HASSELL, which marked the first time cement-free concrete has been utilised for suspended construction.

All shortlisted projects receive two free tickets to the gala dinner. Judges will be announced soon.
