Group GSA has appointed Will Lakin as studio principal at its newly established Perth studio.

Group GSA recently set up their first Perth studio (and fifth overall) following steady business growth in Western Australia. Respected architect, master planner, design leader and manager, Lakin was appointed a new principal to lead the studio.

Lakin brings significant project experience in Australia, the UK and Hong Kong to his new role at Group GSA. Highly experienced in delivering mixed-use contemporary architecture in complex urban environments, including tourism, hotels, aged care and retirement living, as well as mixed use residential projects, Lakin has also held public advisory roles with the UK’s CABE and academic posts at Plymouth University, The University of Western Australia (UWA) and Curtin University, where he still lectures in Architecture.

He will focus on establishing blue chip consultancy work across a range of disciplines, drawing on Group GSA’s sector expertise from specialists based across Australia.

Joining Lakin in the new Perth studio is Mark Zuvela, a Perth born and bred architect who worked for three years in Group GSA’s Sydney office, where he built a strong background in multi residential and mixed use developments, hotel/tourism and aged care from design inception through to documentation and contract administration.

Group GSA Managing Director Mark Sheldon said they were thrilled to support Zuvela in his return to Perth.

The new Group GSA studio is located in the new hub environment, Flux, at St Georges Terrace in Perth’s CBD.
