The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is inviting all women and men who want to actively participate in the development of clear solutions that will lead to changes within the construction industry to its inaugural National Conference.

Taking place on 8-9 October in Melbourne, the conference hopes to inspire “champions of change”, bringing together different stakeholders in construction to work on a few key aims:

  1. Reduce the gender equity pay gap
  2. Increase participation of women in the construction industry
  3. Inspire champions of change for inclusiveness, behaviour, flexibility regardless of age, gender or culture
  4. Grow and sustain a healthier industry for the future
  5. Build a better future for construction in Australia

According to Laurice Temple, CEO of NAWIC, a robust cultural change in the industry can only occur through changing the nature of conversations, driven by one conversation at a time.

The conference will be hosted by Shaun Kenny from People of Influence, with conference streams, topics, workshops and speakers to be released in the coming months.
