London-based Studio Banana Things have created a portable light that folds up small enough to fit inside a bag.

Hexagonally shaped, the lamp is covered in a soft rubberised material with grooves that enable it to fold in half and take up as little space as possible.

The flexible light has twenty-four built in LEDs, designed to emit a soft yellow glow to illuminate the bottom of a bag, making it easier to see its contents.

It is powered by a lithium-ion battery, which offers 2.5 hours of continuous light and is rechargeable via USB Port.

The light can also be programmed to turn on or off through touch and an accelerometer built into the device offers a variety of modes, making the lamp suitable for other functions outside a bag, such as reading or as a torch.

The team at Studio Banana Things has launched a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign in hope of bringing the Kangaroo Light into production.
