Queensland’s residential apartment market is experiencing new highs of growth with a 90-level building to come up shortly in Surfers Paradise.

Designed by SJB architects, the new residential tower will be built on the site of the 22-storey International Beach Resort which property giant Meriton purchased for $58 million.

At 290-310m in height, the new tower may rise above the Spirit Tower, which is 298m and will have higher floor levels than the 78-storey Q1 Tower.

Meriton founder Harry Triguboff said the new vibrancy in the Gold Coast market gave him the confidence to make the big investment.

The building will give all of the 270 serviced apartments and 300 residential apartments direct ocean views. The tower has been split into three unique tiers, each with coloured glass panels and a circular illuminated halo creating a beacon effect at night. An Art Deco inspired podium will feature a large timber deck, lobby cafe, restaurants as well as separate pools and recreation facilities for hotel guests and apartment owners.
