The Building Designers Association of Victoria (BDAV) announces the appointment of Kate Bell as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer.

Appointed to the lead role as part of a new organisational structure created to support BDAV’s strategic priorities in 2016,  Bell will be responsible for the association’s government and industry relationships as well as marketing and sponsorship efforts, working with the Committee of Management to help achieve long-term objectives.

The new structure will also see former Joint Executive Officer Giselle Grynbaum continue her 20-year-long association with BDAV in the role of Executive Officer.

President Alastair McDonald explained that the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer will allow the Committee of Management to focus on the strategic goals of BDAV and enhance their offering to members. He observed that Bell’s talent and innate understanding of the organisation made her the perfect candidate to drive BDAV forward, as well as be a tremendous asset to the Committee of Management team.

These organisational changes are expected to streamline BDAV’s processes so that it can deliver more benefits and services and effectively respond to new opportunities and challenges in 2016 and beyond.

Bell brings nearly 15 years of association management experience to her new role, having held the position of Joint Executive Officer at BDAV for the last four years. She has previously worked with member organisations such as the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as well as the Australian Funeral Directors Association.
