WORKSHOPPED 14 is expected to be the single biggest event at the
upcoming Sydney Design 2014 to be held at the Supa Centa Moore Park in Sydney from
14 to 27 August.
Recognised nationwide as one of the most important public platforms for
both emerging and established product and furniture designers, the WORKSHOPPED
exhibition has, since 2001, presented the work of over 300 Australian designers
through 13 exhibitions to over 500,000 people.
This year’s exhibition, WORKSHOPPED 14 – Clean Slate, will feature 54
designers and is expected to be viewed by over 60,000 visitors. Designers
selected for WORKSHOPPED 14 were asked to develop ideas, designs and products
from a ‘clean slate’.
WORKSHOPPED Director, Raymond Scott explains that design thinking is
going to have a huge impact on Australia’s future prosperity as it is core to
innovation. He adds that the WORKSHOPPED 14 exhibition offers a great
opportunity for the wider public to look at the design development process from
imagination, research and concept to prototype development.
Going beyond merely showcasing great design, WORKSHOPPED exhibitions
facilitate commercial relationships between designers, industry and the
marketplace.
