The 5th edition of the Tour de PIF, the Property Industry
Foundation's Annual Cycling Challenge has already received over 60 individual registrations.
To be held on Sunday 14 September, Tour de PIF aims to raise over
$200,000 net for disadvantaged youths. The GPT Group is the major sponsor for
the event with supporting sponsors including KPMG, Holding Redlich, Taylor and
HDR Rice Daubney.
The Tour de PIF is expected to have more than 300 participants on race
day.
Rosemary Smithson, National Chief Executive Officer of PIF said that the
2013 Tour de PIF was a great success with over $200,000 net raised for at risk
and homeless young people. The money went into the Foundation's charity
building project, which provides accommodation for young people ready to
re-enter the workforce.
They now look forward to another successful year and the opportunity for
the property industry to come together for the benefit of the homeless.
All proceeds will go towards the Foundation's PIF House Program, which has
been developed to take young homeless people off the streets and get them back
into society.
Participants in the Tour de PIF cycling challenge can choose from a 62km
ride or a 116km ride, both starting from Bobbin Head. Cyclists will receive an
official Tour de PIF jersey, refreshments and a gourmet BBQ lunch at the
conclusion of the event.
The yellow jersey will be awarded to the individual who raises the most
overall funds while the polka dot jersey will go to the team raising the most
funds. A green jersey will be given to the rider with the most donations
received and a white jersey will be given to the rider under 30 years who raises
the most amount of dollars.
