Three leading property industry groups have signed on as Platinum Corporate Partners of Livable Housing Australia (LHA).

The three key influencers of the property industry, Australian Institute of Architects, Property Council of Australia and Master Builders Australia have reinforced their commitment to the Livable Housing Design Guidelines and the national livability certification program championed by LHA.

Established in 2011, Livable Housing Australia works with industry, consumers and governments to ensure new Australian homes are designed and built as per the LHA design guidelines to be safer, more comfortable and easier to access.

Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute of Architects, David Parken comments that they are supporting Livable Housing Australia to ensure the industry designs and builds homes to meet the needs of more Australians.

Glenn Byres, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Property Council of Australia observes that liveability, versatility and adaptability should be the standard for new Australian homes and industry led action is the best way to achieve that goal. He adds that the Property Council is proud to continue supporting a proactive approach to providing genuine housing choice.

According to MBA’s Chief Executive Officer, Wilhelm Harnisch, Master Builders Australia has been working with Livable Housing Australia over the last four years to encourage voluntary industry acceptance of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines. MBA’s corporate partnership with LHA is the next natural step in their commitment to user-friendly and lifecycle-sensitive homes.

LHA’s Executive Director Amelia Starr adds that Livable Housing Australia is transforming the way the Australian dream home is being designed and delivered. Appreciative of the support from the three industry bodies, she adds that their commitment reinforces the industry’s leadership and determination to design and deliver homes that meet the needs of Australians today, tomorrow and well into the future.
