Sydney based design shop DesignByThem has added a new chair to their
Australian made timber furniture collection.
The latest addition to the Calf range and the fourth in the growing
collection, the Calf Chair designed by Nicholas Karlovasitis and Sarah Gibson is
a modern interpretation of the enduring furniture designs of the 1960s, when
furniture was handcrafted and built to last. The designers used technology to reinterpret
the design into a reduced form.
Several design elements in the Calf Chair demonstrate Sarah and Nick’s
attention to detail, such as using the latest CNC technology to create the high
tolerance fittings. The Calf Chair can be flat-packed and assembled by the
user.
Made using dense FSC timber, the Calf Chair combines its aesthetics with
environmental responsibility and durability.
Measuring 764mm H x 415mm W x 485mm D, the Calf Chair comes in a water
based polyurethane finish and will be available in October 2014.
