The Australian sustainable building industry is getting its own event as well as the support of some of the heavyweights in the building industry.

SEE Sustainable Experience 2015 is the first event of its kind in Australia and is being organised to bring together participants in Australia’s sustainable building industry on an education-based platform to showcase their products and solutions that enable the creation of efficient and healthy homes and buildings. The exhibition will also enable these participants to tell their sustainable stories to industry professionals and the community.

Cameron Rosen, Managing Director of Australian Living who has created this event in partnership with FMX Business Solutions said that they are very happy with the positive response from industry associations, especially since the exhibition is exclusively about sustainability rather than an addition to a building show.

Master Builders Executive Director, Grant Galvin said Master Builders is excited to be associated with the SEE Sustainable Experience in 2015. Master Builders is keen to explore how to challenge the popular perception that sustainable building practices cost more and impact adversely on housing affordability.

Observing that the majority of Queensland’s residential building industry is largely made up of small businesses that prioritise price over innovation, he said that the inclusion of sustainable features in home design is usually driven by consumer demand. Therefore, the key to ensuring home buyers and renovators and the building industry embrace sustainable building practices and materials is price, availability and education.

He added that Master Builders was keen to play a role in raising awareness and increasing demand for solutions that will benefit all Queenslanders in the future.

Australian Green Development Forum has also enthusiastically extended their support to SEE Sustainable Experience 2015 with President Mark Thomson commenting that positive development is an important focus for future Australian building and SEE will be a great showcase of new product offerings and innovative concepts towards this focus.

Global GreenTag and Ecospecifier Global are proud supporters of the SEE Sustainable Experience 2015. As organisations committed to drive demand for sustainable products, Global GreenTag and Ecospecifier aim to raise awareness of sustainability locally and globally.

David Baggs, CEO & Program Director explains that Ecospecifier and Global GreenTag’s mission is to empower not just individuals but the whole industry by doing their green product research for them and enabling them to make greener product choices through their Sustainable Experience.

Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is also focussed on substantially increasing the sustainability of consumption. CEO Rupert Posner says that GECA is running a transparent and credible ecolabel that enables consumers to make more sustainable choices.

The Supporting Partners for SEE Sustainable Experience 2015 are Master Builders Association Queensland, Building Designers Association of Queensland, EnviroDevelopment (initiative of Urban Development Institute of Australia Queensland), Association of Building Sustainability Assessors, Australian Green Development Forum, Ecospecifier, Global GreenTag, Good Environmental Choice Australia, Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers, and Building Designers Australia.
