Victorian Building Authority reports that a man was fined a total of
$800 by the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court for providing false information to a
building surveyor on a building project.
The man from Cranbourne North received a building permit for the
building work on the basis of a fraudulent report and consent given to the
building surveyor. Having pled guilty to the charge laid by the Victorian
Building Authority, he was fined $800 and was also ordered to pay $113 in
costs.
The VBA’s Compliance and Performance Director, Murray Smith said the authority
will continue to prosecute people for acts of non-compliance with the Building
Act.
