Dassault Systèmes paid tribute to the first Australian airmail flight at
the centenary celebrations of the historical event by presenting a special film
at the Powerhouse Museum recently.
Dassault Systèmes, the 3D Experience Company offering world-leading 3D
design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
solutions, joined the centenary celebration of the first Australian airmail flight
in a partnership with the local French authorities.
The Bleriot 3D is a film on the reconstruction of the Bleriot XI
monoplane, which was flown by French pilot Maurice Guillaux in 1914 from
Melbourne to Sydney. The film also illustrated the collaboration power of their
3DEXPERIENCE platform by combining the skills of education teams around the
world and the passion of aviation enthusiasts.
According to the newly designated Ambassador of France to Australia,
H.E. Christophe Lecourtier, the French Consulate has established a trusted and
powerful relationship with Dassault Systèmes in Sydney, working closely on the
Bleriot commemoration flight.
Lloyd Perrin, Director, Sales Value Solutions for Australia and New
Zealand, Dassault Systèmes explains that the company is honoured by the
opportunity to develop the Bleriot 3D in partnership with the French Consulate
and unveiling it next to an actual Bleriot at the Powerhouse Museum.
