The German Interior Designers’ Day will be held in February 2015 at the
Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre.
With conference topics having been specified for the GID Day, the call
for papers has been issued for the first conference block aimed at the
German-speaking specialist public, inviting interested experts to submit their
ideas for presentations. The second conference block will draw leading international
interior designers as speakers.
Topics specified for speakers at
GID Day 2015 include:
1. The non-visual qualities of a room: Presentations will define the acoustic,
haptic, olfactory or other qualities required for a room apart from the
traditional visual factors.
2. The process, not the result! Creative control: The way to a good
interior: Presentations should highlight examples of the sometimes complex ways
of creative architectural control for successful interiors, going beyond the
visually attractive outcomes.
3. The art of manipulation for the benefit of building culture: Presentations
should indicate mechanisms to encourage building constructors to aim for a
higher quality of interior design.
4. Atmospheric architecture – Spatial dreaming: Presentations should
cover the possibilities of spatial design in modern interior spaces.
Proposals for presentations should be submitted by 10 September 2014 by
email to Dipl.-Ing. Architect Christina Dragoi at [email protected].
The GID Day will take place within the framework of R+T, the world-leading
trade fair for roller shutters, doors and gates, and sun protection systems,
and is supported by the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects.
