Charter Hall’s 100 Skyring is a new office development that has already created a prominent gateway to the Gasworks precinct with its striking exterior design.

Part of the continued evolution of Brisbane’s near city office market, the $175 million 12-storey building on Newstead’s Skyring Terrace features large, campus-style floor plates to foster greater staff collaboration.

Charter Hall Regional Asset Manager Belinda Kalinin explains the 100 Skyring project responds to the growing demand for buildings featuring an inspiring workplace design to foster an environment that encourages employee performance, motivation and satisfaction. 100 Skyring’s 2,200sqm floor plates have been orientated to maximise natural light and allow for ultimate workspace planning flexibility to increase interaction, efficiency and collaboration.

Given the building’s close proximity to the Brisbane River and Gasworks’ new dining, lifestyle and entertainment precinct, 100 Skyring also creates opportunities for tenants to work and play. Building tenants on all floors have an amazing view of the Brisbane River and beyond thanks to an east-facing, gently-curved façade.

100 Skyring has been designed to connect and engage with the precinct’s open green space, cafés, restaurants and other amenities, extending the workspace outdoors.

ML Designs Senior Project Manager Paul Hanley said they designed 100 Skyring’s exterior to become a captivating focal point for people travelling along Breakfast Creek Road towards the city. A 206m-long artwork wraps around the two-level podium car park floors, running along three sides of the building and consists of approximately 2,000 interlocked, metallic panels.

Renowned Brisbane artist Daniel Templeman designed the piece and drew inspiration from the illumination of the neighbouring historic Gasometer frame and city streets. The artwork not only gives the building greater texture and visual interest, but also cleverly screens the building’s podium car park.

The 100 Skyring project is expected to reach practical completion in August this year with office space still available for lease.
