Images have emerged of an illegal makeshift walkway linking two high-rise apartment buildings in the city of Nanning, China.
The ad hoc structure connects the separate residences, forming an enlarged property for the use of a single private owner.
According to Chinese news services, the steel-framed overpass was built without proper permission or planning and has become a safety hazard to passers-by walking below.
There is also understandable doubt over how the corridor would fare during the typhoons, earthquakes and monsoon rains common to the subtropical area.
