UK startup Niwa has developed a hydroponic gardening system that takes away the hassle of gardening by autonomously controlling and caring for your plants through the use of a smartphone app.

The high-tech plant container holds a microcontroller loaded with custom made software that processes data from an array of sensors and actuators to create the perfect growing environment for your plants.

The unit controls humidity, temperature, and light, while an automated irrigation system waters and feeds the plants whenever they need it.

The actions being performed are all communicated to you via the dedicated Niwa app, allowing users to remotely track and interact with the process or simply leave it on autopilot.

The current version of the greenhouse is hydroponic, meaning the soilless garden relies on a fluorescent lamp and refillable reservoir of water to grow.

The Niwa system will be available through a Kickstarter campaign planned to launch this month.
