Nature, art and delight celebrated at 2015 QLD Architecture Awards


Cairns Open House 2015 invites local residents and visitors to explore contemporary, historic and sustainable buildings and spaces at this year’s events.

Design and architecture buffs, heritage enthusiasts and anyone curious about Cairns’ unique places are invited to this year’s Cairns Open House featuring various free-of-charge events.

Cairns Open House 2015 is hosted by the Australian Institute of Architects Far North Queensland Regional Members Group.

Participants can look forward to experiencing some of Cairns’ best local historic attractions, innovative architectural sights and clever adaptive reuse of heritage treasures with a ‘Walking Tour’ of the CBD on Sunday 11 October.

Award-winning and internationally renowned architect, Charles Wright will present innovative approaches to tropical design at the ‘Designed in Cairns’ seminar on Thursday 15 October, 5:30 – 7:30pm at The Cairns Institute, JCU.
