Design Build has launched a new incubation platform that aims to nurture and grow emerging design talent by connecting individuals or companies with industry at a commercial level. Design Build Incubator will be a key feature at this year’s show at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in May.

The incubation program targets innovation in Australia’s architecture, building, construction and design industries by inviting individuals or companies with innovative ideas or new products to make a submission to become feature partners for 2016 under the Design Build Incubator banner.

A panel of industry experts will select five products or ideas that promote genuine entrepreneurship and innovation in the architecture, building, construction and design industries. A key aim of the incubation program is to ultimately provide a dedicated platform for new product manufacturers to connect with industry at a commercial level, offering a leg up to emerging talent and promoting collaboration between the four sectors.

Design Build Event Manager Ali Mead explained that it was important for leading professionals to have visibility across new and emerging talent, both within their own industry and across other disciplines. By giving entrepreneurs in architecture, building, construction and design, a platform to showcase their work, Design Build will also facilitate cross-industry networking and promote further collaboration between them.

DesignBUILD will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 4-6, 2016.

Submissions for DesignBUILD Incubator are open until Friday February 19, 2016. For submission guidelines, or to submit your entry, visit www.designbuildexpo.com.au/designbuild-incubator/
