In 2016 the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

AILA is seeking expressions of interest from individuals, practices, schools of landscape architecture, or collaborative teams to take on the role of Celebration Creative to curate the year of activities, adding an overall thematic continuity to the anniversary.

As a significant milestone in Australia’s landscape architecture history, AILA will harness the energy of its members, non-members, supporters and advocates to develop and deliver a program that will give a voice to landscape architecture and will provide a meaningful and memorable opportunity to celebrate.

The scope of the Celebration Creative role and responsibilities is primarily focused on the themes, content and style of how AILA will celebrate the year. An honorarium will be offered to the selected team/person.

AILA seeks creative submissions focusing on community engagement and communications that serve to change perceptions, raise profile, and influence positive change. Collaborations between those in the landscape architecture profession and those in other creative disciplines is encouraged.

It is hoped that the year’s events and themes will be designed to engage primarily with the community and the public, as well as with Government, Students, Universities, and of course landscape Architects.

Late last year, the AILA announced the Creative Director team for the 2015 Festival of Landscape Architecture, scheduled to take place 15-17 October in Melbourne.
