The tallest building in the world, the 830m Burj Khalifa by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), celebrated its fifth birthday this year. To mark the occasion, Ireland based architecture firm Cantrell & Crowley has created an interactive timeline which charts the history of the world's tallest towers.
This lineage dates back to 2560 B.C, and includes the world's tallest building in 1549 and the sixth tallest church in the world.
