Student One Wharf Street in Brisbane is the world’s tallest purpose-built student accommodation tower. Recently launched by Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, the 41-storey Wharf Street tower is designed to accommodate up to 753 residents, and is the latest addition to Student One’s portfolio of student residences in the city.

Built at a cost of $120 million, the 122-metre high tower boosts Brisbane’s status as a world-class student city.

Student One is designed by architecture firm Arkhefield and constructed by Hutchinson Builders with students offered a choice of 4- and 5-bedroom apartments, single and double studios as well as adaptable and executive studios, all completely air conditioned for comfort.

Student One chief executive Tim Weston said they were confident about the rising demand for purpose-built student accommodation among both domestic and international students, given the many advantages.

Located in the heart of Brisbane, Student One Wharf Street offers easy access to public transport, educational institutions and a shopping and entertainment precinct. With international students flocking to Queensland, Brisbane was a natural choice for Student One. International education contributes in excess of $4 billion annually to the Queensland economy, he added.

In addition to the newly opened Wharf Street tower, Student One also offers the 742-bed Adelaide Street facility launched in 2016; the upcoming 900-bed twin-tower student residence on Elizabeth Street in Brisbane’s CBD is due to open in January 2019.
