A house by Pearls MiiHome

One of India's largest property businesses claims to be on the cusp of revolutionising flood-proof housing around the world thanks to work done in Queensland after the devastating floods earlier this year.

Building company Pearls MiiHome have designed and built a house out of structural panels made of styrofoam and steel which they say is the first of its kind and will be the way of the future in disaster-prone areas.

They have built the first new home in Grantham.

Mark Winfield from Pearls MiiHome told the Toowoomba Chronicle that the entire house is constructed with its structural panels made of styrofoam and steel, making it "cheaper than the cheapest build".

"And you can build a whole house in four or five weeks so you're not dealing with a construction site for five months," he said.

Pearls MiiHome is the Australian arm of Indian corporate behemoth Pearls Global, and was created to pursue development and business opportunities throughout Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Pearls Global claims an Indian profile of1.6 million employees, 260 offices, the nation’s largest private land portfolio and a diverse range of infrastructure, property, construction, entertainment, education and health and media businesses.

Pearls MiiHome is the inventor and owner of the internationally patented MiiHome Building System, a technology underpinning the ready made homes.
