The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Australia ispreparing a case for project certification so it can achieve recognition fromthe Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).

FSC Australia is preparing a submission forthe GBCA proposing that its FSC Project Certification be recognised as a mechanismto achieve GreenStar timber credit.

The approach follows discussions with majorbuilding and development organisations who are interested in using FSC ProjectCertification as a verification tool to validate that timber used in projectsis from

responsible sources.

The FSC standards provides a strongverification process for sourcing timber to be used in construction projects aswell as other one-off projects.
