An Australia-designed and manufactured food service rinse gun from Enware Australia is helping local and international companies to use less than half the hot water per plate washed, compared with older designs.

The FS729 Ultra Rinse Food Service Gun - a version of which has been adopted nationally by Woolworths in Australia - is the first product of its type to carry both the WaterMark to AS/NZS 3718 and WELS 6 star Water Efficiency Rating.

The Ultra Rinse Food Service gun as used by Woolworths was a finalist this year in Australia’s manufacturing awards, the Endeavour Awards, in the category Australian Industrial Product of the Year.

A total of 1,668 FS729 Ultra Rinse food service guns are now employed by Woolworths nationally to save water and energy, says Enware’s chief operating officer, Adam Degnan.

Enware calculates these will save over 25 million litres of water a year as well as nearly $1.75 million in energy costs.

With a nominal flow rate of 4 litres a minute, FS729 Ultra Rinse food service guns also achieves the benchmark of California’s pre-rinse spray valve specifications, introduced to save both water and energy.

The success of the initial trial resulted in a national rollout of the FS729 Ultra Rinse gun across every Woolworths and Big W store in operation at the time, as well as some hotels.

Enware visited every store and completed the project within both the time frame set out under local State guidelines and Woolworths own project targets.

Enware also adapted the FS729 Ultra Rinse gun to Woolworth’s particular requirements for a purpose-designed pre-rinse spray assembly, designed in conjunction with their staff and specification team.

The resulting product is now standard on all the Woolworths Product Specification for food preparation and wash down areas.

The FS729 Ultra Rinse incorporates a moulded rubber spray nozzle guard, new high velocity spray pattern and enhanced water technology efficiency.
