Cemintel Residential ExpressWall has been the key component in reducing construction costs in the development of a home built on a challenging inclined site on the mid-north coast in NSW.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom Crescent Head property called for a lightweight, energy efficient and cost effective external lining system that would enable the home to blend into the landscape, utilise the steep incline whilst maximising the ocean views, and follow the architect's philosophy of passive solar principles and respect for the coastal climate.

"Building a three-storey house on a steep incline will always pose additional construction costs. Residential ExpressWall is lightweight and reduces the cost of construction by minimising the additional costs for labour and cranage which are normally associated with heavy weight masonry materials," says Architect Chris Jenkins of Chris Jenkins Design.

The Cemintel Fibre Cement ExpressWall Residential Facade System is an 8 mm thick, autoclaved, cellulose fibre reinforced cement sheet which is purpose manufactured for use on residential build facades.
