Think Brick Australia has completed its nationwide search for 12 qualified bricklayers to participate in an industry training program aimed at delivering a new generation of Australian bricklayers.

Think Brick Australia’s Brick Masterclass program for 2010 was designed to give the best bricklayers in the country an opportunity to further develop skills in their craft and learn leadership and business acumen.

The Brick Masterclass will take place in Sydney from February 24-28, 2010, and will become an annual five-day intensive live-in program for 12 bricklayers.

Participants will learn aspects of theory including leadership, team management and personal development as well as practical skills including craft and design. They will also have the chance to work with and learn from architects and a bricklaying master craftsman.

The nationwide nomination campaign ran over two months and received numerous applications, which were reviewed by a selection committee made up of representatives from Think Brick Australia, the ABBTF, the Master Builders Association and masonry contracting company, Elvis & Rose.
