Berlin-based online magazine for “architecture and beyond”, uncube, has released its latest issue, which asks a range of local Australian contributors what makes architecture tick in the landscape between the Never Never and the ‘burbs.

Focusing on the theme, Australia, the mag interviews landscape architect Kate Cullity of Taylor Cullity Lethlean (TCL) about ‘Australian-ness’ and whether it comes from the land itself, while indigenous architect Jefa Greenaway explores local architecture at the intersection between some of the oldest and youngest culture mores in the world.

The issue also looks at Australia’s recent rise in new public buildings that pack a punch of vivid colours and splintered geometries and facades. Welsh + Major’s David Welsh contributes a piece about AIA Gold medallist Troppo, and renowned architecture photographer John Gollings shares about his attraction to landscape and aerial photography.
