The new $106 million Harbord Diggers precinct is one step closer to development following the announcement that the project’s Development Application has been approved by the Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP).

Designed by Architectus, Chrofi and JMD Design (the Architectus Consortia) as part of a design competition, the plans were given to the Warringah Council JRPP which consisted of Council representatives and other representatives appointed by the State.

Having passed approval, the Architectus Consortia will now work with developers to craft the final plan ahead of construction which is expected to begin from mid-2015.

The design incorporates four new buildings and the adaptive re-use of the existing Club building over the Club’s existing, acquired and Crown land. It will feature seniors independent living apartments, a new Club, associated members service areas, child care centre and a fitness and aquatic centre.
