Archikidz! is a free event and architectural workshop for children, a highlight event of the 2012 Sydney Architecture Festival.

Taking place at Carriageworks on Saturday 27 October, Archikidz! is all about inspiring, exciting and educating children about architecture and the built environment.

Archikidz! Offers 300 children (ages 7-12 years) the opportunity to spend the afternoon in a workshop environment facilitated by real architects, designing and building their own architectural masterpiece to take home.

Archikidz! Is a community initiative of Sydney based design practice ARQUE. Co-founder and director Emma Rees-Raaijmakers has brought Archikidz! to Sydney from the Netherlands where she lived and worked as an architect for six years.

“Archikidz! is a truly unique opportunity to make change. It is a wonderful, optimistic and vibrant model for teaching our kids how they too can make change – and how important architecture and the built environment is for both community and the future of our fragile planet.” Emma Rees – Raaijmakers, Executive Producer and Event Director, Archikidz! Sydney.
