The AIA NSW Country Division Committee invites architects and students of architecture to enter the Affordable Housing Exhibition being held as part of the Architecture on Show event in Bellingen, NSW.

Affordable housing is a growing area of architectural practice following the introduction of the NSW Planning Department’s Affordable Housing SEPP in 2009. The Affordable Housing Exhibition will provide a platform for architects and students of architecture to explore, develop and discuss the designs and building typologies possible as a result of this legislation.

Open to all members of the Australian Institute of Architects and all University students of architecture, the competition requires participants to share their ideas for dwellings, built and unbuilt, compliant with the NSW Planning Department’s Affordable Housing SEPP.

The exhibition will be part of the Architecture on Show - Bellingen, NSW on Thursday 30 July 2015 from 6pm at the brand new Bellingen Brewing Co. and will form part of the ArchiMEET seminar on ‘What is Affordable Housing?’ at Bellingen Showground Pavilion on Friday 31 July 2015.

Participants should send one A3 page mounted on foam core with plans, sections, elevations and perspectives as needed (model optional) by post to Tricia Helyar Architects - Unit 2, 5 Church Street, Bellingen NSW 2454. Entries are due 5pm Friday 24 July 2015.

All entries will be put on public display at the Architecture on Show – Bellingen at 6pm on 30 July 2015 at Bellingen Brewing Co, Pub Lane, Bellingen. Entries can also be viewed in an online gallery connected to the AIA NSW Country Division Facebook page.
