The winners of the 2016 Eat Drink Design Awards have been announced, celebrating innovation and excellence in the design of hospitality premises, retail food and beverage environments and visual identities for both.
From a shortlist of 77 projects, the best of the best were named across the categories of Best Bar Design, Best Restaurant Design, Best Café Design, Best Retail Design and Best Identity Design.
The winners were chosen by a jury of varied professional expertise, including food critic Terry Durack, interior architect Adele Winteridge, interior designer Hamish Guthrie, food and lifestyle publisher Julie Gibbs and Cameron Bruhn, editorial director of Architecture Media.
Besides the category winners and numerous commendations, Il Bacaro by Chris Connell Design was inducted into the program’s Hall of Fame (an award given each year to an establishment of enduring cultural and design value).
